Where is Tamil University located?

The main campus is in Thanjavur, near the new bus stand and district administrative offices on the Thanjavur–Tiruchirappalli road. Chennai partner-centre and distance courses have separate arrangements.

What is the teaching language?

The current general prospectus rule is Tamil / English. It does not independently establish a selectable English-only version of each programme; applicants should confirm actual teaching arrangements before enrolling.

What is needed for an integrated degree?

The five-year integrated Tamil and History routes require the recognised 10+2 qualification, with Tamil studied as a language, and the applicable cycle-specific age condition.

Can any graduate apply for a postgraduate degree?

Some awards accept a recognised bachelor’s degree in any subject, while Sculpture, Tamil and science routes have particular subject requirements. Music and dance routes also specify relevant basic preparation.

Do the displayed amounts mean annual tuition?

The amounts are native combined semester totals from the 2026–27 prospectus. They include institutional components beyond tuition and should not be treated as annual tuition or assumed to recur unchanged.

Are scholarships or campus logistics rooms guaranteed?

No. The prospectus describes government scholarship routes and separate campus logistics, but an academic offer does not establish an individual scholarship award or room allocation.

How is an application submitted?

Download and complete the campus form, pay the applicable processing charge and send the required copies and payment receipt. Original records and the transfer certificate are required at the prescribed admission stage.

When can I apply for the next intake?

The 2026–27 deadlines are historical. Follow the next programme-specific admission notice for application and reporting instructions; no future opening or intake month is promised.
