Is the University of Bologna public?

Yes. The University of Bologna is a public Italian university. Programme-level rules still determine admission, language, fees and access, so applicants should use the current official degree-programme page for the course they intend to study.

Does Bologna offer English-taught engineering study?

Yes. The 2026/27 Automation Engineering second-cycle degree is listed as delivered entirely in English at the Bologna campus. Its official page describes Automation Engineering and Autonomous Systems and Intelligent Robots pathways.

Does the university offer an MBA?

The approved catalogue label is MBA, while the official university title may be a second-cycle degree such as Business Administration and Management. The official programme page includes an English Service Management curriculum and states a B2 English requirement for that curriculum.

How long are the engineering and business programmes?

The official Automation Engineering and Business Administration and Management pages describe two-year second-cycle degrees worth 120 ECTS. Always confirm the current academic-year page because programme structures can change.

What are the University of Bologna tuition fees?

Fees are set by academic year and can depend on income documentation, citizenship and the degree cycle. The university publishes the current fee and exemption rules; applicants should not use a generic annual estimate as a confirmed offer.

Can international students apply with a foreign qualification?

International applicants may be assessed using a suitable foreign qualification, subject to the specific degree programme's academic and language requirements. The university publishes separate guidance for foreign qualifications and each programme may apply its own assessment or selection process.

Are all University of Bologna programmes taught in Bologna?

No. The university is multicampus and its programmes may be taught in Bologna, Cesena, Forlì, Ravenna, Rimini, or other listed locations. Check the official programme page's place of teaching before planning accommodation.
