How long is Medicine at the University of Lisbon Faculty of Medicine?

The Integrated Master's in Medicine lasts 12 semesters and carries 360 ECTS. The first three years form the 180-ECTS basic medical-studies cycle, and the full degree follows completion of the programme and final Integrated Master's work.

What is the published 2026/27 international tuition?

The Faculty's international-Medicine page publishes EUR 18,000 per year. The EUR 108,000 six-year figure is a calculation from that annual tuition, not an all-inclusive Faculty package.

Is Medicine taught fully in English?

No. The international page accepts Portuguese or English B1 evidence at entry. Applicants entering without Portuguese B1 are required to complete Portuguese study by the end of the third year, so this is not presented as a fully English-medium route.

Who can use the international-student Medicine route?

The 2026/27 call is for applicants who meet Portugal's international-student definition and hold a qualification giving higher-education access in their education system, or the relevant Portuguese secondary qualification. EU citizens and several resident or family categories are excluded from that route.

How are applicants selected?

For the verified 2026/27 call, the final classification was 60% intermediate classification and 40% interview. The videoconference interview considered motivation, communication, medical knowledge and extracurricular activity.

What documents are part of the application?

The call lists identity, academic-access evidence, language evidence and the Group A communication prerequisite. Foreign documents require the stated translation and legalisation route where applicable.

What payment is due on enrolment?

The 2026/27 international call states a EUR 100 application fee and a 30% tuition payment of EUR 5,400 at enrolment, plus a registration fee set by Faculty management. The page does not publish a fixed registration amount.

Is University accommodation included?

No. University of Lisbon operates student residences, but their availability and monthly fees are separate from Medicine tuition. This package does not represent a residence place as included or guaranteed.
