Is Medical Studies in English at the University of Mostar direct-entry after secondary school?

Yes. The 2026/27 call requires completed secondary education or its equivalent and uses the overall four-year school average, with specific consideration of Biology, Chemistry and Physics grades, as priority selection criteria.

How long is the Medical Studies in English degree?

The published curriculum describes an integrated university programme lasting six years across 12 semesters, carrying 360 ECTS credits and leading to the Doctor of Medicine title.

What is the annual tuition for 2026/27?

The School of Medicine's 2026/27 English-programme call states annual tuition of 18,000 BAM, plus a 140 BAM admission fee. Tuition is due within one week of the formal electronic acceptance letter and the call states that tuition fees are non-refundable.

How many English Medicine places are available in 2026/27?

The first 2026/27 call states that 30 full-time places are planned for Bosnia and Herzegovina citizens or foreign citizens. The published deadline is 30 September 2026 or earlier if all places are filled.

What documents does an international applicant need?

The call lists a passport copy, birth certificate in English, diploma and certified copies with official Croatian translation, foreign-qualification recognition decision, English evidence, CV, motivation statement, health declaration, financial-capacity statement and admission-fee proof. Some academic recognition documents may be submitted later in the procedure.

Is English-language evidence required?

Yes, unless the applicant can show four years of English-language learning in secondary school. The call also accepts TOEFL, IELTS or Certificate in Advanced English where previous education was not in English.

When does teaching normally begin?

The programme curriculum states that its academic year runs from the beginning of October to the beginning of July. The 2026/27 admission call gives the application deadline but does not publish a cohort-specific first teaching date; the programme is therefore indexed to the October intake period rather than a fixed start-day claim.

What clinical training is documented?

The curriculum places clinical rotations in the sixth year and specifies 12 weeks of student practice across Internal Medicine, Surgery, Gynaecology and Paediatrics, with three weeks in each. It does not promise a particular site for a future cohort.

Is the school listed internationally?

The school is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools as currently operational. The listing states that students and graduates may apply for ECFMG Certification for graduation years 1997-current, provided all other ECFMG requirements are met.

Can the degree be used to practise medicine abroad?

Professional registration is country-specific. The degree has a WDOMS listing and an ECFMG application-eligibility note, but neither replaces the licensing, examination, language and registration requirements of the country where a graduate plans to practise.
