What IMAT score is needed for Padova?

Padova is among Italy's top-5 IMAT destinations. Competitive allocation typically requires IMAT scores of 82–90+. Annual cutoffs vary. Students Traffic tracks Italy-wide IMAT cutoff data year on year and advises on realistic university preference ordering.

Why is Padova called the birthplace of modern medicine?

The world's first permanent anatomy theatre (Teatro Anatomico, 1594) opened at Padova. Andreas Vesalius wrote the foundational text of modern anatomy here. Galileo taught physics at Padova for 18 years. This medical heritage is reflected in the depth and scientific rigour of the curriculum to this day.

How does Padova compare to Bologna for IMAT?

Both are among Italy's top universities. Bologna holds the Censis #1 rank nationally; Padova (#4) holds a slight historical edge in medicine specifically. For Indian students, both are WHO-recognised, NMC-eligible, and ECFMG-listed. The practical difference is cost: Padova is modestly more affordable. Students Traffic can advise which better fits your IMAT score and profile.

Is ESU Padova housing available for international students?

ESU Padova operates university-affiliated student housing for qualifying students. Subsidised rooms are limited — early application is important. Private shared apartments in Padova run €350–550 per person, which is significantly below Milan or Rome prices.

What clinical training does Padova offer?

Clinical rotations use the Azienda Ospedaliera-Università di Padova — a large research-active teaching hospital strong in transplantation, oncology, rare disease, and surgical specialties. Clinical contact begins from Year 3.

Is Padova safe for Indian students?

Yes — Padova is one of Northern Italy's safest mid-size cities. University areas are walkable, well-lit, and well-monitored. Petty theft in tourist zones is the main urban risk; university and residential areas are considered very safe.
