Is Medicine at FMUP an undergraduate-entry programme?

It is an Integrated Master in Medicine. The programme lasts 12 semesters and 360 ECTS credits, and the 2026/27 international-student call offers a direct international admissions route subject to its entry conditions.

What language is FMUP Medicine taught in?

The official course record lists Portuguese as the programme language. The published international route does not describe an English-medium Medicine track.

What is the 2026/27 tuition for international Medicine students?

FMUP publishes 16,500 EUR for full-time international students in the Integrated Master in Medicine for 2026/27. This is tuition; it is not a complete housing, living or immigration budget.

How many international Medicine places are available?

FMUP lists 12 places for Medicine in the 2026/27 international-student call. Place availability and any unfilled-place phases follow the faculty's published process.

What are the 2026/27 FMUP application dates?

FMUP lists applications from 13 April to 8 May 2026 in phase one and 29 to 31 July 2026 in phase two. Interviews are scheduled 15-20 May and 4 August respectively; registration dates are also published by phase.

Is there an interview?

Yes. FMUP's international Medicine calendar includes interviews in both published 2026/27 phases. The faculty's own regulation determines the detailed selection and ranking criteria.

How is the degree recognised?

The course page records DGES registration R/A-Ef 2793/2011/AL06 dated 21 May 2026 and an A3ES accreditation decision published 31 July 2022 with six-year validity. These are programme-status records, not an automatic practice right abroad.

What practical training is documented?

FMUP describes early contact with health units and patients, a pre-clinical medical-sciences stage and a clinical cycle applying the scientific base acquired. It does not publish a guaranteed named placement for each incoming student in the reviewed materials.

Are accommodation costs included in tuition?

No accommodation figure or included housing service was verified in the official Medicine and admissions sources used here. Students need a separate Porto housing and living-cost plan.
