Is Tor Vergata's medicine degree valid for FMGE/NExT?

Yes. The Medicine and Surgery degree is WHO-recognised. With a valid NMC Eligibility Certificate, graduates are eligible for FMGE/NExT and NMC registration. Students Traffic handles the NMC certificate for every enrolled student.

How does Tor Vergata compare to Sapienza for Indian MBBS students?

Sapienza is larger, older (founded 1303), and nationally ranked higher (Censis #2 vs #12). Tor Vergata offers a more modern research campus, smaller cohorts, and lower IMAT competition — while still in Rome. For students who want Rome's career advantages at a more accessible IMAT threshold, Tor Vergata is the realistic Rome option.

What IMAT score is needed for Tor Vergata?

Tor Vergata is typically 5–8 IMAT score points below Sapienza's cutoff — making it accessible to students in the 72–82 range. Annual thresholds vary. Students Traffic tracks Rome-specific cutoffs and advises on Sapienza vs Tor Vergata preference ordering.

How far is the Tor Vergata campus from central Rome?

The campus is in Rome's southeastern outskirts — about 12 km from the city centre. Metro Line C and bus services connect the campus to central Rome in 30–45 minutes. Many students live near the campus to reduce commute time.

What are Policlinico Tor Vergata's strengths as a teaching hospital?

Policlinico Tor Vergata is a modern research-integrated hospital — particularly strong in oncology, rheumatology, and transplant surgery. The research integration means students work alongside active clinical scientists, which is distinctive among Italian medical training environments.

Does Tor Vergata offer ECFMG and USMLE eligibility?

Yes. The degree is ECFMG-listed. Graduates can pursue ECFMG certification and USMLE Steps 1, 2 CK, and 3 for US residency. Students Traffic includes licensing pathway guidance for all enrolled Italy students.

Is there housing near the Tor Vergata campus?

EDiSU Lazio manages some housing near Tor Vergata. Most students live in shared private apartments — near campus at €350–550 per person, or in central Rome with metro commute. Students Traffic advises on housing strategy before departure.
