Wenzhou University: FAQ

Non-native English speakers provide English proficiency proof. The current entry page and specific postgraduate guide print TOEFL above 70, IELTS above 6 or Duolingo above 105, or other English proof. A general 2026 brochure has inclusive 70/6 wording; undergraduate applicants should confirm the boundary and accepted proof. A universal prior-English-degree waiver is not established.

From the 2026/27 academic year, international bachelor’s applicants need valid CSCA transcripts. The catalogue lists Mathematics for many subjects, with Mathematics plus Chemistry for Chemistry and Materials Science and Engineering, and Mathematics plus Physics for specified engineering/computing subjects. Follow the exact programme row and confirm paper language, timing and score requirements.

Prepare the appropriate school or bachelor’s qualification and official transcripts, English proof and the programme’s required subject-test records. Other-language records need notarised Chinese/English translations. Postgraduates also need a study plan and two recommendation letters; no unprinted universal word count or recommender rank is imposed.

The guides ask for passport, medical and no-criminal-record reports within six months, and a recent bank statement. If someone else holds the account, provide a signed sponsorship letter; no minimum balance is printed. Applicants already in China have residence-permit and previous-school performance requirements. The general brochure also lists an English/Chinese introduction video within five minutes.

The 2026 general window was 1 March–30 June; the specific postgraduate guide gives 3 March–30 June 2026. Both have passed. Submit through the official online system and follow university assessment, payment, admission, visa and registration instructions. Confirm the next cohort’s opening and start date rather than advancing these dates automatically.

The 2026 English bachelor’s table gives annual bands of CNY 18,000 for liberal arts, 20,000 for science/engineering and 22,000 for art/sports; confirm the exact subject category. English master’s subjects have individual annual quotes of CNY 22,000, 24,000 or 26,000. The degree application fee is CNY 800 and non-refundable; housing and other costs are separate.

The postgraduate 2026 brochure lists freshman-award references of CNY 22,000, 10,000 and 8,000, while other brochures use different tier labels. The individual award and current payment notice control. For 2026, full payment and registration affected final scholarship eligibility and tier, and freshman support applied to one academic year. No full tuition coverage, future award or renewal is guaranteed.

The 2026 brochure quotes triple rooms at CNY 2,900/person/year, subject to reservation and allocation. The student guide describes shared kitchens in Chashan residences. Ask the college about Chinese study and graduation requirements: the Computer Science and Technology master specifically states at least HSK 3; this numerical condition is not automatically copied into every other programme.
