What type of university is XJTLU?

XJTLU is an independent Sino-British joint-venture university established by Xi'an Jiaotong University and the University of Liverpool in 2006. It is a separate institution in Suzhou, rather than the Liverpool campus in the UK or Xi'an Jiaotong University.

Are the degrees taught in English?

Degree subject teaching is in English. General and basic courses can use other languages, and language degrees have additional language requirements. Match your English result to the specific programme and entry year.

Which technology courses can I compare?

Undergraduate options include Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science and Technology, Data Science and Big Data Technology, robotics and Internet of Things engineering. At master level, compare the MSc Artificial Intelligence with taught and research computing, data science and engineering routes.

Does the AI degree use the same campus for every pathway?

No. The undergraduate Advanced Industrial Artificial Intelligence pathway is at Taicang, while Intelligent Systems is at Suzhou Industrial Park. Campus choice affects the teaching setting and accommodation plan.

Can I enter directly after high school?

International Year One applicants need an appropriate high-school qualification with a minimum B average. Year Two consideration is available with A-level BBB, an IB Diploma with 30 points, or the stated high-school and AP combination, subject to programme requirements.

What English scores are required for undergraduate entry?

Year One normally requires IELTS 5.0 with each skill at least 4.5, or TOEFL iBT 62. Year Two normally requires IELTS 6.5 with each skill at least 5.5, or TOEFL iBT 90 with each skill at least 21. The language requirement applies when the relevant English evidence is needed.

What is the tuition and what else should I budget?

International undergraduate tuition is CNY 99,000 per academic year in the 2027 admissions cycle. Master prices in the published fee table apply to 2026 entry; a 2027 update is pending. Accommodation, utilities and living costs are additional, and UK transfer study uses separate tuition.

How do I apply for the 2027 intake?

Select the programme and use its Apply link to create an XJTLU application account. Most September 2027 undergraduate applications close on 31 May 2027; the September master deadline is 17:00 Beijing time on 15 June 2027. Scholarship deadlines are earlier.

Which documents do master applicants need?

Prepare official transcripts, the degree certificate or enrolment status letter, a personal statement, CV, passport and applicable English result. Two academic referee contacts are required. Programme-specific portfolios or further assessments can apply.

Are there scholarships for international students?

The international undergraduate entry scholarship can cover up to half of annual tuition, subject to academic merit and renewal conditions. Full-time master entry scholarships normally cover part of programme tuition; selected research awards allow consideration for a full tuition scholarship. Awards are competitive and require the scholarship section of the application.

What accommodation is available in Taicang?

Entrepreneur Apartments offer twin and single rooms, with annual prices of CNY 6,000 per bed and CNY 14,000 per room respectively. Deposits and utilities are additional. Booking is subject to availability, and cooking is not permitted in the accommodation.

Does international undergraduate status have nationality or age restrictions?

Yes. Applicants of Chinese heritage need four years of foreign passport or nationality and two of the past four years outside China (counting Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan as China). Former Chinese nationals must document cancellation of citizenship and Hukou. For 2027 degree enrolment, applicants must be at least 17 on 1 September; those under 18 need a guardian resident in China.

Can Students Traffic help me choose the right route?

Students Traffic can compare the programme, campus, academic requirements, English result and budget against your profile. An application review can also identify the correct entry year, documents and scholarship deadlines before you submit.
