Academic-stream applicants must meet both the CIPET programme conditions and TNEA 2026 admission rules.

• Pass HSC Academic, both +1 and +2, or an accepted equivalent, with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

• This listing covers only first-year academic-stream TNEA seats surrendered by CIPET Chennai, not an independently verified foreign/NRI quota or lateral-entry route.
• Indian applicants must satisfy one of the six TNEA nativity, Tamil Nadu schooling or parent-service categories detailed below; an Indian passport alone is insufficient.
• Tamil Nadu candidates who passed Classes VIII–XII in Tamil Nadu may apply without a nativity certificate. Tamil Nadu natives who studied any of those classes outside the state require a digitally signed nativity certificate.
• Children of Central Government employees qualify irrespective of nativity if a parent—or guardian only where both parents are deceased—served continuously in Tamil Nadu for five years; employer evidence is required.
• Children of permanent public-sector or government-recognised-institution employees qualify irrespective of domicile with five continuous years of Tamil Nadu employment and the specified employer/supporting records.
• Children of All India Service Tamil Nadu-cadre officers require a parental declaration. Other-state candidates who studied Classes VIII–XII in Tamil Nadu may apply without a nativity certificate.
• The parent-service and other-state schooling categories are considered under Open Competition; communal reservation requires Tamil Nadu nativity and the prescribed state community certificate.
• Tamil Nadu-native OCI/PIO cardholders may participate under Open Category, except those born in a foreign country after 4 March 2021. Do not broaden this to every OCI/PIO or foreign applicant.
• Sri Lankan Tamil refugees who studied in Tamil Nadu may participate under Open Competition with Headquarters Tahsildar identification; those outside refugee-camp registration also need original passport, visa and police-registration letter.

TNEA 2026 explicitly names CIPET Chennai among participating central-government institutions. This is a positive route definition, not a declaration that the institution excludes every other applicant. NRI residence alone neither creates a verified NRI quota nor negates eligibility as an Indian national under these rules.
