Year-wise cost data is not currently published for this program.
Training & support
Practical training & industry exposure
James Watt School of Engineering degrees place strong emphasis on laboratory and project work: Civil Engineering students run structural design projects with architecture and quantity-surveying students in year 3; Mechanical Engineering students undertake industry visits across the UK in year 3; Electronics & Electrical Engineering students complete a team design project covering full product development; and Aeronautical Engineering MEng students take a flight-testing course aboard a Saab 340B aircraft in year 5. Civil and Mechanical Engineering BEng degrees are accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM), partially meeting the academic requirement for Chartered Engineer (CEng) registration. The Adam Smith Business School's Glasgow MBA runs a compulsory team consulting project with real Scottish businesses (research, industry or start-up pathway) and a coaching qualification from the Association for Coaching. PhD Engineering candidates join one of five James Watt School research divisions (Autonomous Systems & Connectivity, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics & Nanoscale Engineering, Infrastructure & Environment, Systems Power & Energy) or a named Doctoral Training Centre.
