Year 4 rotates through six-week clinical blocks (Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Medicine and Surgery, Family Medicine, Psychiatry, Paediatrics and Neonatology); Year 5 includes a 24-week Medicine and Surgery block, a 4-week sub-internship, and a 4-week student-selected clinical attachment.

Clinical exposure
The Undergraduate Medicine programme runs three stages: Foundation of Practice (Years 1-2, largely pre-clinical), Integration into Practice (Year 3, first hospital placements plus a 6-week Student Selected Project), and Preparation for Practice (Years 4-5). Year 4 rotates students through six-week blocks in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Medicine and Surgery, Family Medicine, Psychiatry, and Paediatrics and Neonatology. Year 5 includes a 24-week Medicine and Surgery block, a 4-week sub-internship functioning as a clinical team member, and a 4-week student-selected clinical attachment. Clinical training runs across Bahrain Defence Force Hospital, the Mohammed Bin Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa Specialist Cardiac Centre, King Hamad University Hospital, Salmaniya Medical Complex, and additional private hospitals and health centres. Graduates receive the MB, BCh, BAO (Hons) alongside licentiates from the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland; recognition for practice in any specific country depends on that country's own medical regulator, and the degree does not carry EU-wide automatic recognition since Bahrain is outside the EU.
