Is Beijing Institute of Technology a public university?

Yes. BIT is a centrally run public university under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It is distinct from Beijing University of Technology and University of Science and Technology Beijing.

Which English-taught undergraduate technology routes can I compare?

The 2027 list includes engineering and computing choices in Beijing, and Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, Financial Technology and Accounting in Zhuhai. The programme’s campus is part of the decision; the same university name does not mean the same location.

Are all BIT programmes taught in English?

No. The catalogue distinguishes English and Chinese routes, and some subjects are available in only one language. English availability also differs between master’s and doctoral study, so an English PhD listing does not establish an English master’s route.

What CSCA subjects do English undergraduate applicants need?

The listed engineering programmes require Mathematics and Physics. Financial Technology at Zhuhai also requires both subjects. International Economics and Trade in Beijing, and Accounting in Zhuhai, require Mathematics.

What English scores are required?

The documented English routes accept IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 85, Duolingo English Test 110, or another language certificate recognized by BIT. Native English speakers are exempt. Programme selection and academic review remain separate from language eligibility.

Can an applicant under 18 apply for undergraduate study?

The normal age range is 18–25, with a documented route for applicants under 18. Beijing applicants need a guardian certificate involving Beijing residency; Zhuhai applicants need a guardian in China. The required materials must be supplied before pre-admission.

How much is the tuition for the 2027 English routes?

The 2027 English undergraduate tuition is CNY 30,000 per year. Documented Zhuhai English master tuition is CNY 36,000 per year. Beijing master prices are kept on request where only a historical 2026 programme-category quote has been established.

When do the current applications close?

The 2027 undergraduate and Zhuhai graduate brochures give an application period from the end of October 2026 to 1 June 2027. Scholarship rounds close earlier. Beijing graduate timing needs its own intake-specific application review.

What documents are important for a master application?

Prepare certified academic documents, English evidence, a CV, study plan, two professor or associate-professor references and the BIT supervisor recommendation form. Medical-examination and non-criminal-record documents are also listed. The supervisor recommendation is a separate requirement from the two academic references.

Is academic Business Administration the same as the MBA?

No. The academic subject and the professional MBA are separately named routes. The documented professional MBA requires at least one year of related work or internship experience; its price and admission conditions should not be copied to academic Business Administration.

What accommodation costs should I allow for?

The 2027 undergraduate brochure lists monthly room prices of CNY 900–1,350 at Zhongguancun, CNY 500–900 at Liangxiang and CNY 500–900 in Zhuhai, depending on occupancy. The Zhuhai graduate brochure lists twin rooms at CNY 900 and triple rooms at CNY 700 per person per month. Utilities are additional.

Can I rely on a scholarship to cover all costs?

Scholarships have separate eligibility, application and annual-review conditions. The 2027 guides list BIT and relevant government awards, but an advertised scholarship is not a funding offer. Build a budget for the relevant campus before depending on an award.

How can Students Traffic help with my BIT application?

Students Traffic can compare the programme, campus, language evidence and budget against your academic background. An application review can organize CSCA preparation for undergraduate study or research plans and recommendation documents for a master’s route.
