Question 1

Which English degree routes are verified?

Accepted Answer

The complete 2026 catalogue verifies ten English master’s routes: Chinese Philosophy; World Economy and China; Educational Leadership and Policy/Comparative Education; Higher Education and Student Affairs; Chinese Law LL.M.; Contemporary China Development Studies; Ecological Environment Protection and Management; Digital Media, Global Cultures and Communication; and the Zhuhai Belt and Road School MBA and MPA. All have two-year nominal durations.

Question 2

Does BNU offer an English bachelor’s route in this catalogue?

Accepted Answer

No English-taught undergraduate route is established by the current sources. The 2026 undergraduate guide explicitly says teaching is Chinese. Its 33 recruitment groups contain 40 named majors, including English as a subject; that subject title does not make its teaching medium English. These rows remain outside this English portfolio.

Question 3

Are the next application dates confirmed?

Accepted Answer

The verified general graduate window was 15 November 2025–10 March 2026, with CSC online submission by 25 January 2026. Those dates have passed. Obtain the exact next-cohort calendar from admissions; dated passport, birth-date and test-validity rules should not be rolled forward by assumption.

Question 4

What qualifications and age limits apply?

Accepted Answer

The general 2026 guide requires non-Chinese citizenship, a foreign passport, good health/character and a qualification equivalent to a Chinese bachelor’s degree or above. General applicants are under 50; CSC master applicants are under 35 under that dated guide. Former Chinese citizens and relevant applicants with Chinese nationality history need the specified cancellation/renunciation documents.

Question 5

What English scores are required?

Accepted Answer

Programme requirements differ: Educational Leadership/Policy and Higher Education/Student Affairs specify TOEFL 100 or IELTS 6.0. Environment, World Economy/China and Chinese Law specify TOEFL 90 or IELTS 6.5. Communication requires TOEFL 90 or IELTS 6.5 with each component at least 6.0. CCDS and BRS MBA/MPA list TOEFL 90 or IELTS 6.0. Philosophy’s TOEFL 90 is clear, but its IELTS notation “6/5.5” needs clarification. Accepted wholly-English previous-degree evidence can support the stated waiver; confirm exact scope.

Question 6

Do the programmes require work experience?

Accepted Answer

The Zhuhai BRS MBA and MPA require working experience, including internship; one year or longer is preferred. Their reference to pre-experience students does not remove that explicit requirement. Educational Leadership/Policy and Higher Education/Student Affairs prefer educational experience but do not require it. CCDS treats related work/volunteering as an advantage. World Economy welcomes applicants from all academic backgrounds.

Question 7

What exact degrees are awarded?

Accepted Answer

Awards differ: explicit MA for Philosophy and Higher Education/Student Affairs, MSc for Environmental Science, LL.M. for Chinese Law, Master of Economics for World Economy, Master in Comparative Education, Master in Public Management for CCDS, Master in Communication, MBA and MPA. CCDS is native academic 120400 and is not the professional 125200 MPA at Zhuhai. No extra MA/MSc/MEd classification is inferred for neutral native master’s subjects.

Question 8

How much is tuition?

Accepted Answer

The programme guides and general English master tuition schedule quote CNY 60,000 for the entire two-year programme. The full catalogue also gives native CNY 30,000 annually. Both stated bases are retained; the full-course figure is not an annual fee. Application CNY 600 is non-refundable, online-only and required for scholarship applicants. Later admitted-cohort final charges need confirmation.

Question 9

Are scholarships guaranteed?

Accepted Answer

No. BNU lists several scholarship categories with separate criteria and deadlines. BRS full scholarships conditionally cover two-year tuition, insurance and a housing/living stipend; partial awards cover tuition, insurance and a partial living stipend, with no amount stated. Philosophy’s report of full funding for previous cohorts is historical, not a guarantee for a new applicant. World Economy says merit awards are limited.

Question 10

Where are classes and accommodation?

Accepted Answer

The catalogue places BRS MBA and MPA at Zhuhai; the other eight English routes are at Beijing. Beijing offers single/double and other room types, with online booking; missing the booking period can mean giving up campus housing. Covered scholarship students are assigned accommodation. The general guide quotes Zhuhai Phoenix School double rooms CNY 7,500 per person per academic year, allocated by the school. No universal room guarantee or Beijing tariff is invented.

Question 11

Is Chinese required for an English degree?

Accepted Answer

English instruction does not necessarily remove Chinese study or graduation conditions. Chinese Law explicitly requires no Chinese for entry but HSK level 3 by graduation. The Philosophy catalogue explicitly says no Chinese entry requirement. Several curricula contain Chinese language/culture courses. Confirm the exact programme’s completion requirements; no unsupported universal HSK score is imposed across all ten.

Question 12

Must I mail paper documents?

Accepted Answer

The general guide requires prompt paper submission after initial review unless accepted degree-verification reports satisfy its stated exemption. BRS asks required hard copies within ten days after preliminary review. Follow the exact accepted exemption and document instructions. Original qualifications are checked at registration; failure to supply them can withdraw admission. Results are communicated by the official system/email, not guaranteed by a review or recommendation.

Question 13

Which official office should I contact?

Accepted Answer

Graduate admissions: egp@bnu.edu.cn, +86 10 58802944, A 103 Main Building,19 Xinjiekouwai Street, Haidian, Beijing. Student registration/visa/housing support is a separate ISO role. BRS academic enquiries: brs0926@bnu.edu.cn, +86 756 3621031, Zhuhai. Programme-specific academic contacts remain separate. No partnership-signing authority or agency authorisation is inferred.
