Is the General Medicine programme direct-entry after high school?

Yes. It is a joint 1st- and 2nd-cycle programme -- admission follows completion of secondary education, with no separate bachelor's stage required first.

What qualification is awarded on graduation?

Graduates receive the MUDr (Medicinae universae doctor) degree after passing the state examination, a Slovak state medical qualification listed under EU Directive 2005/36/EC Annex V for automatic recognition across the EU/EEA.

What entrance exam does the university require?

A 180-minute, 200-question multiple-choice exam covering Biology and Chemistry (100 questions each), drawn from a published pool of 500 practice questions per subject. There is no interview and no separate English-proficiency certificate requirement.

What is the current tuition fee?

EUR 13,000 per year, with the entry-year rate guaranteed to stay fixed for the full six-year standard duration of the programme. A separate, non-refundable EUR 99 admission fee applies at application.

When does the academic year start and when can I apply?

The academic year begins with enrollment in mid-September. The most recent cycle offered three exam sittings (typically March, June and August); that cycle has closed, and the university had not yet published next-cycle dates at the time of research. Non-EU applicants are advised to target the earliest sittings given visa-processing time.

Is a scholarship available for international Medicine students?

A Slovak government scheme (up to EUR 15,000, requiring a SAT score of at least 1100) has been offered to talented international students, but its most recently published window was for the 2025/26 cycle and its applicability to this fee-paying English-medium programme for the current cycle is unconfirmed.

What visa and residence documents do non-EU students need?

Non-EU applicants apply for a national long-stay visa and temporary residence permit before arrival, then register with Bratislava's Foreign Police Department after arrival. Required documents include a criminal-record certificate (translated or apostilled), proof of at least EUR 2,400 in available funds, proof of accommodation, and travel/health insurance covering at least EUR 30,000.

Is university accommodation available for international students?

Yes -- the Druzba and Ludovit Stur-Mlyny dormitories are the university's main housing options, with room rates estimated in the roughly EUR 72-174 per month range; private-market housing is also available.

Do Indian students need NEET to join this programme?

The university's own admissions criteria do not reference NEET. Separately, India's National Medical Commission requires Indian citizens and OCI holders who obtain a primary medical qualification abroad to have qualified NEET-UG, whose result serves as the mandatory Eligibility Certificate.
