Is Guru Nanak College coeducational?

Yes. The current prospectus identifies coeducational study. These entries describe Indian regular admission routes; other qualification and overseas-category conditions require a separate college assessment.

Which university is the college affiliated to?

The University of Madras lists Guru Nanak College as an autonomous aided affiliated college. The institution also offers self-financing streams; confirm the exact degree and admission conditions for the route you select.

What are the three streams?

The Government Aided Stream and Self-Financing Stream I list 8 am–1 pm classes. Self-Financing Stream II lists 1:10 pm–6:10 pm. Apply for the exact stream and confirm the final departmental timetable.

When was first-year undergraduate induction?

The IQAC records Deeksharambh for new first-year undergraduates on 16–20 June 2025. This is a historical orientation baseline, not a guaranteed next-cohort class date. Obtain the exact current programme notice.

What is the teaching language?

The institutional 2022 SSR and 2022–23 AQAR explicitly state English as the teaching medium at GNC. This is a dated institution-wide policy supporting the current regular awards; language papers have their separate subjects.

How much will the programme cost?

Request a current official quotation separating tuition, examination, skill-course, deposit and practical charges for the selected programme and stream. Accommodation, daily living and travel are separate; confirm the current withdrawal/refund schedule before payment.

Use the official online admission route, register with valid contact details, and submit the main form after qualifying results are available. Separate streams require separate applications. Follow the merit list, provisional call, verification and head of department and Principal interview instructions.

Which records should I prepare?

The current checklist includes qualifying school marks, Transfer Certificate and Indian-route identification/education records. Community, migration, income, first-generation, disability and other special records apply only where relevant. Obtain the exact checklist and two-photocopy requirement before verification.

Can overseas applicants use the same guidance?

The general college instructions mention University of Madras eligibility certification and a regular long-term student visa for foreign students. Obtain programme-specific qualification, visa, document and fee confirmation before treating an overseas route as approved.

Is accommodation included?

Consult the campus logistics Committee about current options, vacancies, charges and rules for your programme and applicant category. A degree offer does not reserve a room; assess private accommodation and transport separately.

Does the college provide daily living support?

The Langar scheme is described for needy economically weaker students. Confirm current eligibility and arrangements. Ask about canteen menu, prices, hours and dietary needs separately; no full meal plan is inferred.

What student support is described?

The college lists counselling, mentoring, grievance, anti-ragging and internal-complaints arrangements, alongside library/digital resources and welfare committees. Obtain current procedures and emergency contacts during induction.
