Campus life, Indian student community, food options, and day-to-day living at Guru Nanak College (Autonomous), Chennai in Chennai.
The college describes a 25-acre green campus with academic blocks, laboratories, library and digital resources, student clubs and sports facilities. Its schools organise subject activities, projects and student events. Daily study depends on the selected aided or self-financing stream; confirm the exact timetable and campus conduct rules at admission.
Students needing accommodation should consult the college’s Hostel Committee about the current options for their programme and applicant category. Confirm the location, room type, vacancy, charges and residence rules before arranging a stay. An academic offer does not by itself reserve accommodation; compare private housing and travel costs separately.
The college describes a Langar scheme providing free mid-day meals to needy economically weaker students. Confirm eligibility and current arrangements rather than assuming all meals are included with admission. Ask the Canteen Committee about the current menu, opening hours, prices and any dietary or allergy requirements before budgeting.
The college describes counselling, mentoring, anti-ragging, internal complaints, anti-drug and student-grievance arrangements, alongside its medical-centre activity. Obtain current emergency contacts and the procedure for requesting help at induction. Confirm any health-service hours and referral arrangements directly; travel and accommodation need separate planning.
Student services include a Counselling Cell, Equal Opportunity Centre, SC/ST Welfare Committee and student-grievance arrangements. The library offers catalogue and digital-resource access, including DELNET/NLIST-related services. Confirm current access, mentoring and applicable document or concession guidance through the appropriate college office.
