Which Queen Mary’s institution is this?

This is the government women’s college on Kamarajar Salai, Mylapore, Chennai, affiliated to the University of Madras. Queen Mary University of London and colleges with similar names elsewhere have separate admissions.

Who can use these entries?

These offerings cover women through the verified regular domestic first-year UG route. Meet the exact subjects, current DCE age conditions, category requirements and original-document checks. Foreign and lateral-entry routes need separate verification.

How do the language sections work?

The current college seat matrix identifies a teaching medium for each programme and shift. English and Tamil sections are separate admission choices. Select the exact route; a course title or a foundation-language subject alone does not establish teaching medium.

What age rules apply in 2026?

The dated 2026 DCE rules state an upper age limit of 40 as on 1 July 2026, with specified category relaxations:3 years may be allowed for women/listed categories,5 years for disability/transgender categories. Do not assume automatic or cumulative relaxation; confirm category assessment with the college.

Which school subjects are needed?

Requirements vary. Mathematics is required for Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science; Chemistry is required in specified biological-science routes. Commerce requires Commerce and Accountancy. Some degrees have academic/vocational allocations and language-subject priorities. Read the exact programme conditions.

When did first-year UG orientation take place?

The verified 2026–27 baseline is July: the official college notices schedule first-year UG orientation on 16,17 and 20 July 2026, with department orientations also in July. These records identify orientation, not an independently verified universal first teaching day or a future application window.

Are annual tuition fees confirmed?

The current first-year UG fee sheet itemises admission, verification, laboratory, special and other charges but does not separately identify annual tuition. This omission is not treated as NIL tuition. Request an itemised quote for the exact programme, shift and qualifying-board category.

How are applications selected?

Follow the notified government admissions process and college rank lists. DCE rules rank the appropriate qualifying subject components and apply programme priorities and government reservation. Attend the scheduled counselling with originals and complete the admission payment if selected.

What documents are needed?

The college lists mark statements, transfer, community where applicable, conduct and medical certificates, passport photographs and attested copies. Bring original proof for a special quota or relaxation claim and obtain recognised-equivalence documentation when required.

Are PG courses included?

The college currently lists postgraduate programmes and publishes their seat matrix and fees. These UG entries do not establish a first-year PG intake or every degree-specific PG qualification; postgraduate routes remain separately under research.

Is campus logistics accommodation guaranteed?

campus logistics accommodation requires a separate application to the Deputy Warden after general admission. Confirm availability, residence rules, deposits, meal arrangements costs and reporting requirements before planning to live on campus.
