Hostel facilities, Indian food availability, campus safety, and accommodation options at Shanghai University of Electric Power.
Hostel arrangements and costs vary by room type and academic year. Confirm current availability and fees directly with Shanghai University of Electric Power before making any payments.
Accommodation overview
The 2026 English guide quotes double-room housing CNY 4500/person/year, indicative for a future cycle. Reserve in advance: first-year students who apply for a campus dorm have priority; remaining places may serve returning students. The actual room and price depend on choices available when reserving. Housing is separate from tuition and personal spending. Confirm the applicable contract and refund terms before payment; the Chinese-route room or scholarship package must not be assumed to apply automatically.
Food & daily living
The 2026 brochure includes a university dining hall. Verified current halal certification, Indian-menu provision, allergy handling and cooking facilities are not established here. Confirm any essential dietary arrangement before reserving accommodation, and allow for food and personal expenses separately from the published room charge.
Campus & lifestyle
The international admission office is at 1851 Huchenghuan Road, Pudong, in Shanghai’s Lingang area. The 2026 university brochure shows a library, student activity centre, student residences and a dining hall. Confirm the programme’s teaching campus and housing allocation before planning arrival. The cover is historical Dishui Lake city context; it is not a campus or dormitory photograph.
Safety & student support
Valid comprehensive medical insurance is required for registration. The 2026 English guide specifies the Ping An plan for international students at CNY 800/year; confirm the current premium and cover. Applicants also need medical examination and non-criminal records. Use official application and result instructions; dishonest documents can permanently disqualify an applicant. The International Exchange and Cooperation Office handles international admission and external coordination. The continuing/international education college handles arrival and student procedures under the university rule. Students Traffic can help organise the English-route checklist and clarify campus, scholarship and language questions before official submission.
