Question 1

Is the university recognised?

Accepted Answer

Shanghai University of Electric Power is listed in the Ministry of Education 2026 higher education register under 上海电力大学, code 4131010256, in Shanghai. Institutional listing does not establish automatic overseas qualification recognition or a professional licence. Verify the exact awarded qualification for the intended country and career.

Question 2

What is taught in English?

Accepted Answer

The current 2026 English undergraduate guide specifically lists International Economy and Trade. The current university Chinese-language degree brochure explicitly marks its master subjects Chinese-taught. An older school page or English-course development project does not establish a current English master admission route.

Question 3

How long is the bachelor?

Accepted Answer

Normal study is four years, with completion within four to six years and the required credits. The broad domestic 2025 subject plan has different details and is not used to promise an accelerated three-year international route. Exact awarded degree wording should be confirmed before applying.

Question 4

Who can apply?

Accepted Answer

The English 2026 guide requires non-Chinese citizenship, good health and senior-high-school graduation or equivalent, and states applicants should be over 18. Former Chinese nationals must satisfy the applicable Ministry of Education 2020 No.12 rules. No ordinary maximum age is printed; scholarship eligibility has separate limits.

Question 5

What English proof is accepted?

Accepted Answer

IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 60 orabove is printed in the English 2026 guide, with an express exemption for native English speakers. A prior-English-medium degree is not automatically listed as a waiver. Confirm accepted test versions and any current changes before booking a test.

Question 6

Are Chinese requirements relevant?

Accepted Answer

The international-student trial rule permits an English thesis for a full-English programme but requires its abstract in Chinese. The exact programme Chinese-learning or graduation-test implementation remains to confirm; no unverified numerical HSK score is added. SGS separately says generally HSK 4 plus programme language, so an English-entry exemption is not assumed to waive scholarship Chinese requirements.

Question 7

How do I apply?

Accepted Answer

Register by email on the official international-student system, activate the account from the confirmation email, and upload the required records. The English 2026 guide does not establish an application-fee amount or a universal test/interview exemption. Follow current official assessment and result instructions rather than the Chinese-route checklist.

Question 8

What documents are needed?

Accepted Answer

Prepare school graduation/equivalent and full transcripts, English proof or the native-English exemption, a study plan, passport valid at least two years, white-background JPG photo, guarantor statement and bank proof over CNY 4500. Medical examination and a non-criminal record are required. Non-fresh graduates and applicants already in China have additional specified records; other-language documents need notarised Chinese/English translations.

Question 9

What does study cost?

Accepted Answer

The 2026 English-route annual tuition quote is CNY 20000, with double-room housing 4500 and insurance 800 separate. They are indicative for a future cohort and are not a total annual living budget. The exact application charge, payment schedule, room allocation and refund conditions require confirmation.

Question 10

How do scholarships work?

Accepted Answer

The 2026 English guide advertises SGSClass B tuition and comprehensive-medical-insurance support and University Class C tuition reduction 12000 CNY. Only one scholarship type may be applied for each year; awards are competitive. The SGS guide additionally sets academic, age, language and non-combination conditions, plus annual evaluation for renewal; do not transfer the Chinese-route first-class package.

Question 11

What housing is available?

Accepted Answer

The 2026 English guide quotes 4500 CNY/year for a double room and asks applicants to reserve beforehand. First-year students applying for campus housing have priority; returning students can use remaining availability. Actual conditions and price depend on the options available at reservation; confirm the room and site before committing.

Question 12

When is admission?

Accepted Answer

The English 2026 deadline is 30 June 2026, now past. SGS 2026 applications generally ran 1 March–30 June, while the next cycle is not established by these documents. Exact English programme registration/start dates should come from the current university notice or individual admission instructions; no intake month is inferred.

Question 13

How can Students Traffic help?

Accepted Answer

Students Traffic can help compare the verified English route, organise academic/language/financial records and identify questions about campus, degree identity, scholarships and fees. Apply through the university’s official international system. Admission, funding, visa and degree decisions remain with the university and responsible authorities; no existing representative status is asserted.
