Is TU Dresden M.Sc. Computer Science taught in English?

Yes. TU Dresden identifies the programme as English-language and requires C1 CEFR English for admission.

How long is the programme?

The programme is spread across four semesters. The third semester contains the research project and is structured to allow a temporary stay at another university; the fourth is reserved for the thesis and colloquium.

What undergraduate background is required?

Applicants need a first professionally qualifying Computer Science degree and 90 ECTS of non-overlapping prior study across specified systems, mathematics/theory/AI, and programming/software-engineering groups.

TU Dresden strongly recommends GRE General Test results for international applicants with a bachelor’s degree from outside the EU or EEA. Its admission page describes this as a recommendation, not a blanket mandatory condition.

What are the international application dates?

For foreign higher-education entrance qualifications, the programme lists April 1–May 31 for winter entry and October 1–November 30 for the following summer entry.

What does it cost to enroll?

The regular 2026 winter-semester fee for on-campus students is EUR 361. TU Dresden explains that tuition may additionally apply in defined cases such as long-term study or certain special courses.
