The Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy (FEMA) each occupy dedicated buildings on the Msida campus, alongside the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and Faculty of Dental Surgery, which are based inside Mater Dei Hospital. Prof. Frank Bezzina became UM's 82nd Rector, assuming office on 1 July 2026. UM has been ranked in the QS World University Rankings 2027 for the first time in the world's top 700 institutions (joint #696).
UM does not operate traditional on-campus dormitories; instead it points international students to Campus Hub, a privately operated residence a two-minute walk from the Msida campus. Campus Hub's own published 2024-25 rates list a shared room in a cluster apartment from about EUR 488/month, a single room in a cluster apartment at about EUR 733/month (EUR 6,600 for the nine-month academic year, October-July), and an ensuite cluster-apartment room at about EUR 672/month for the full academic year, all including utilities and Wi-Fi.
