Accommodation overview
UNAM's 2026 fees prospectus publishes campus residence prices. For Namibian/SADC students, Hifikepunye Pohamba Campus annual rooms range from N$6,140 for a quadruple to N$12,290 for a single; non-SADC rates are double. Availability for a specific medicine student is not guaranteed in the fee schedule.
Food & daily living
UNAM's 2026 fees prospectus lists optional lunch and dinner at N$24,750 per year or N$12,375 per semester, with a daily N$120 limit. Breakfast is separate from accommodation charges. These fees are distinct from MBChB tuition.
Campus & lifestyle
The School of Medicine sits within UNAM's Faculty of Health Sciences and Veterinary Medicine. UNAM states that the School opened in 2010; the 2026 MBChB prospectus describes full-time study with a six-year minimum duration and an eight-year maximum completion period.
Safety & student support
No School of Medicine safety statistic or guarantee was verified in the current sources. This package therefore does not make a comparative safety claim for Windhoek. UNAM's Student Records section acknowledges applications, routes eligible candidates to School admission committees and issues registration information after admission. International applicants require a recent Namibia Qualifications Authority evaluation certificate before admission can be considered.
