Is the 6-Year MD programme direct-entry after high school?

Yes. Admission follows completion of secondary education, with no separate bachelor's stage required first. This is different from University of Nicosia's separate 5-year Graduate-Entry MD, which requires an existing bachelor's degree.

What qualification is awarded on graduation?

Graduates receive the MD (Doctor of Medicine), a Cypriot medical qualification listed under EU Directive 2005/36/EC Annex V for automatic recognition across the EU/EEA, with University of Nicosia named explicitly as an approved awarding body for degrees from October 2014 onward.

What entrance requirements does the university use?

Admission is grade-based (roughly a 90% secondary-school average, A-Level ABB, or IB 32 overall including Biology plus one of Chemistry/Physics/Mathematics), plus English proficiency and a mandatory online interview -- there is no separate written entrance exam for this direct-entry pathway.

What is the current tuition fee?

EUR 24,000 per year for the 6-Year MD in Nicosia. The university's separate 5-year Graduate-Entry MD is priced differently, at EUR 25,000 per year.

Are there additional fees besides tuition?

Yes -- a EUR 60 non-refundable application fee, a EUR 1,500 administrative fee and a EUR 3,500 seat-reservation deposit (both deducted from first-semester tuition, with the deposit fully refundable if the student does not enroll), plus visa, insurance and malpractice-cover fees for non-EU students.

When does the academic year start and when can I apply?

The academic year starts in September. The university presents admissions as rolling ('Admissions Open') rather than tied to one fixed deadline -- confirm the current application timeline directly with the admissions team.

Is a scholarship available for international Medicine students?

Yes -- a need-based scholarship of up to 20% of tuition is available, but only after an applicant has met admissions requirements, completed the interview and received an offer; the offer letter specifies the scholarship application deadline.

Do Indian students need NEET to join this programme?

The university's own admissions criteria do not reference NEET. Separately, India's National Medical Commission requires Indian citizens and OCI holders who obtain a primary medical qualification abroad to have qualified NEET-UG, whose result serves as the mandatory Eligibility Certificate.
