Campus life, Indian student community, food options, and day-to-day living at University of Ostrava in Ostrava.
The Faculty admits between 25 and 50 international students per intake to the English-medium General Medicine programme, ranked by entrance-exam score. Students train from the early years at Ostrava University Hospital and use SIMLEK, the Faculty's multidisciplinary simulation centre opened in the 2022/23 academic year.
The university's Jan Opletal Halls of Residence offer double and triple rooms at official monthly rates of roughly CZK 3,400-4,500 (about EUR 135-180) depending on occupancy. International degree students apply through the university's ISKAM system: new students apply 1 June-31 July with a CZK 4,000 refundable deposit due in August, while returning students apply in an earlier spring window. Accommodation runs for one academic year, ending 30 June.
No specific on-campus meal plan or dining-cost figure is published. Food costs should be planned as part of an independent living-cost budget alongside accommodation.
No university-published campus-safety statistics were found. The university's ISKAM accommodation system includes a security-deposit and contract process for incoming international students.
The Faculty works with a disclosed network of roughly 18 named recruitment partners across specific countries and regions, alongside direct self-application. IFMSA-Czech Republic and Erasmus+ mobility programmes support international clinical and research experience during the programme.
