These are the most common questions Indian students and families ask before applying for B.Sc. Biological Sciences at Voorhees College, Vellore, Vellore. Covering admissions, fees, recognition, eligibility, hostel, career outcomes, and the India-return pathway — everything you need before making your decision.
Which college is this?
This is Voorhees College in Vellore, founded in 1898 within the American Arcot Mission tradition. It is an aided college with regular aided and self-financing degree routes.
What does the academic affiliation cover?
The college’s 2024–25 calendar identifies affiliation to Thiruvalluvar University. Applicable university degree regulations and college admission requirements govern the listed regular academic programmes.
How do the shifts differ?
Shift I is aided and Shift II is self-financing. The current-linked UG eligibility documents give separate daytime schedules. Confirm the current timetable and select the exact shift; similarly titled degrees do not establish interchangeable fees or places.
What is required for undergraduate entry?
Pass Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary or a university-recognised equivalent. Science, computing and commerce degrees have named school-subject conditions; Economics also has a published order of priority.
What is required for postgraduate entry?
Meet the exact qualifying-degree conditions for the selected award under the applicable university regulation. A bachelor’s degree alone does not establish eligibility for every master’s degree; equivalence and selection checks apply.
How long are these degrees?
The college’s current-linked ordinary undergraduate documents specify three years and six semesters. The included regular postgraduate degrees follow the applicable two-year, four-semester university framework.
How should I apply?
Start from the college’s own current undergraduate or postgraduate admission page and follow its prescribed portal or instructions. Select the exact award and shift, then complete the required eligibility and original-record checks.
What are the application dates?
Use the next applicable college notice for application, selection and reporting dates. The presence of a cycle-labelled page does not guarantee that its application window remains open.
What documents should I prepare?
Prepare the qualifying academic records and follow the college’s prescribed supporting-document list. Postgraduate applicants should check university eligibility and equivalence requirements for their exact previous degree.
What fees should I budget for?
Obtain the current tuition and compulsory charges for the exact degree, shift and applicant category. Keep accommodation, meals and personal expenses separate. General management-quota figures do not establish an aided or self-financing fee for every degree.
Is accommodation included?
An academic place does not establish a campus logistics place. Confirm residence availability, eligibility, deposits, room and meal charges separately before accepting a residential plan.
What language will classes use?
Check the language label for the selected degree and confirm the departmental arrangement where none is shown. The name of a language degree alone does not establish the language of all teaching and assessment.
Can overseas applicants rely on these entries?
These entries describe the regular domestic academic route. Foreign-national, NRI and OCI qualification acceptance, application procedures and fee categories require individual confirmation.
