Is the General Medicine programme direct-entry after secondary school?

Yes. Both the university's own Applicant page and its WHO World Directory of Medical Schools record confirm admission follows completion of secondary education directly, with no prior bachelor's degree required.

How long is the General Medicine (MD) programme?

Six years, confirmed on the university's official Medical Institute FAQ and its WHO World Directory of Medical Schools record.

What language is the programme taught in?

English or Russian for foreign students, per the university's Applicant and Transfer page. A preparatory language course is available for students who don't yet meet the language of instruction.

What is the annual tuition fee for international students?

USD 3,500 per year for the 2025-2026 academic year, per the university's official Fees page. This differs from the AMD-denominated fee published for Armenian and CIS/Diaspora citizens.

Is there an entrance exam?

The university's own site describes first-year placement via an interview in English, Chemistry and Biology, while its WHO World Directory of Medical Schools record separately states no formal entrance exam is required; both first-party sources are presented here rather than reconciled.

When can international students apply?

Admission opens in June-July and runs through September-October, with exact deadlines set annually by Armenia's Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, per the university's own foreign-student FAQ.

Is Yerevan Haybusak University listed in the WHO World Directory of Medical Schools?

Yes, FAIMER School ID F0002324, with operational status confirmed directly on search.wdoms.org.

Do Indian students need to qualify NEET-UG to study here?

Yes. Per India's National Medical Commission, Indian citizens and OCIs pursuing a primary medical qualification abroad since May 2018 must mandatorily qualify NEET-UG, whose result serves as the NMC Eligibility Certificate. This is separate from the university's own Armenia-side admission process.

Is the university institutionally accredited by ANQA, Armenia's quality assurance agency?

ANQA's own public register shows accreditation was denied in 2015, then granted in November 2019 for three years to 22 November 2022, with no renewal entry recorded since. This is separate from the university's state operating licence and its continued WHO directory listing, but should be confirmed directly before enrolling.
