University overview

CAU’s Beijing sites include East and West campuses; confirm the assigned teaching and research site with the programme’s college. The cover shows the East Campus south gate in March 2025, not West Campus or Sanya. The English Sanya MBA is explicitly taught entirely in Sanya,Hainan; its local study and housing arrangements must be checked separately.

Why students choose it

Current international programme rows give exact two- or three-year master durations in agricultural, technical and development subjects.
English options are supported by the current catalogue; Chinese classes and HSK 3 graduation remain explicit commitments.
Ordinary/self-funded and CSC applications have distinct requirements, with exact current deadlines and documented funding scope.

Things to consider

Ordinary English IELTS 6.0 differs from CSCIELTS 6.5, with TOEFL 90 and documented English-qualification options; CSCGPA/no-fail conditions are additional.
Resource Utilisation/Plant Protection is in the ordinary 2027 directory but absent from the current CSC scheme catalogue; no automatic funding transfer.
Current English master students must reach HSK 3 for graduation. Exact acceptedscore/evidence/timing should be clarified; no score 180 is inferred.

Best fit for

Bachelor graduates matching the exact agricultural, engineering, economics or social/development subject and ready for graduate research.
Applicants prepared for English academic work and the required Chinese-language study through graduation.
Students comparing scheme-specific academic and funding eligibility, with Sanya considered as a distinct location.

Student living

Campus environment

Accommodation

The central 2027 graduate guide gives a double-room reference of CNY 1000–1600/person/month and insurance 800/year, separate from tuition and personal spending. Confirm the actual room, campus, billing schedule and availability before budgeting. Selected CSC 2027 recipients have campus double-room accommodation within their award; funding is competitive and annual review applies. Sanya MBA housing needs local confirmation; the central reference does not establish a particular Sanya room or availability.

Food & daily living

CAU’s Beijing dining guide identifies an ethnic-style/halal dining hall on the second floor west of Yiyuan. Confirm current menus, operating times, certification and allergy handling directly; a halal option is not a promise of an Indian menu. Sanya dining and cooking arrangements are not established by this Beijing source and require local confirmation.

Safety

The 2027 guide requires medical examination and police records, and budgets CNY 800/year for insurance. CSC medical records need full items, doctor signature, hospital stamp and sealed photo; validity is six months. X1 holders must apply for a residence permit within 30 days after entry. Follow individual registration dates and confirm the relevant campus’s arrival procedure.

Student support

The International Student Office handles degree admission, special international projects and China-overview education, with separate administration and visa/accommodation routing. The named college assesses academic fit and study arrangements. Students Traffic can help compare the exact programme/campus, organise documents and distinguish ordinary admission from scholarship conditions.

Frequently asked questions

Is CAU recognised?

China Agricultural University is listed by the Ministry of Education in its 2026 higher education register, code 4111010019, under the Ministry of Education in Beijing. Its history begins in 1905. Institutional listing does not automatically establish a foreign professional licence or a specific qualification equivalence; check the exact programme award for your intended use.

Which language applies?

The current 2027 directory explicitly advertises English master programmes and subjects with English/Chinese options. The supported option is English, with the individual college study plan requiring confirmation where both languages are advertised. Required Chinese study and HSK 3 graduation apply; current programme rows take precedence over an older broad English-course list.

How long are the programmes?

The current catalogue prints exact master durations of two or three years for the individual subjects. A generic 2–3-year guide range is not used to select an arbitrary value. Separately named admission subjects remain separate offerings, while internal research themes are not extra degrees.

Who can apply?

Master applicants need a qualification equivalent to a Chinese university bachelor’s degree or higher, non-Chinese citizenship, health and good standing. Ordinary Chinese wording says age normally not above 35, while English says under 35; confirm the boundary. College-specific academic assessment and, for Sanya MBA, experience/selection requirements should be checked rather than guessed.

What English proof is accepted?

Ordinary 2027 entry accepts TOEFL iBT 90 or IELTS 6.0, with the Chinese guide and English document list also providing an English-taught bachelor/master qualification-proof route. CSC 2027 instead uses IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 90 or prior English qualifications. An automatic native-English waiver is not established here; submit the relevant proof and confirm acceptance.

Is Chinese required for graduation?

Yes. The current guide explicitly says English-programme degree completion has required HSK 3 since 2022 and that Chinese courses are supplied during study. It does not print a numerical score here, so 180 is not inferred. Plan the language study and ask the college what evidence and deadline apply to the individual degree.

How do I apply?

Use CAU’s official application system, choose the exact programme and pay CNY 400 non-refundable. Submit notarised qualification, sealed full transcripts, two signed associate-professor-or-higher recommendations, study/work history, language proof, study/research plan, passport and medical/police records. Colleges review the material and may require further exam or interview; follow their official notices.

What are the current dates?

Ordinary/self-funded 2027 applications are advertised for November 2026–June 2027; confirm the exact closing day. CSC High Level Postgraduate runs 1 November 2026–28 February 2027. Other schemes have separate notices. Registration is in autumn by the individual Admission Notice, with no exact programme start month established here.

Which extra CSC conditions apply?

CSC 2027 requires no failed courses and GPA above 3.0, along with its higher IELTS condition or the stated alternatives. Apply to both CAU and CSC, Type B/agency 10019, and upload the signed CSC form. A pre-admission notice is issued after the college interview/exam and uploaded later; it is not required at the initial step. Final selection remains with CSC.

What does CSC funding cover?

For selected recipients, the 2027 scheme covers tuition, campus double-room accommodation, living allowance and insurance; international travel is self-funded. Recipients undergo annual evaluation and cannot change host, major, field or duration without giving up the scholarship. The current scheme list omits Resource Utilisation/Plant Protection master, even though that subject is in the ordinary directory.

How should I budget?

The central 2027 guide publishes master tuition CNY 26000/year, application 400 non-refundable, insurance 800/year and double-room housing 1000–1600/month. Exact invoices, accommodation and personal spending need confirmation; Sanya MBA has no verified local invoice here, so central references are not presented as its confirmed programme-specific price.

How is the Sanya MBA different?

Its current international catalogue explicitly says all student cultivation takes place in Sanya,Hainan, with a two-year MBA. It is separate from the neutral Business Administration subject elsewhere in the catalogue. Confirm local teaching/housing, fees and any experience/selection conditions; no Beijing semester or dual award is inferred.

How can Students Traffic help?

Students Traffic can help compare the verified subjects and campuses, organise records, plan Chinese study and distinguish ordinary admission from scholarship requirements. Apply through CAU’s official process. Admission, funding, visa, supervisor and degree decisions remain with the responsible institutions; no existing university representative status is asserted.
