Question 1

Where are the English programmes taught?

Accepted Answer

The programme tables specify Putuo or Minhang in Shanghai. Business dual degrees also include France, while the YES 1+1 route has a home-country thesis year. The Software Engineering Institute advertises Putuo teaching and separate Lingang-area housing; confirm travel and the actual teaching location in your offer.

Question 2

What is required for English undergraduate admission?

Accepted Answer

Applicants need high-school qualification or above, eligible international status, the programme’s English evidence and the published CSCA Mathematics subject. Under 18 applicants need a guardian guarantee under the university’s rules. The exact School of Design language/document instructions should be confirmed before applying.

Question 3

What English tests do the programmes accept?

Accepted Answer

The general undergraduate page gives IELTS 6, TOEFL 85 or CambridgeB 2. The current graduate guide gives IELTS 6, TOEFL 80 or CAE 169. The MIB double-degree route requires IELTS 6.5/TOEFL 90 plus GRE/GMAT. The 2027 YES page additionally specifies TOEFL 4.0 on its new-scale wording. Use the exact route’s rules and current test-format guidance.

Question 4

Can an English-medium qualification support a waiver?

Accepted Answer

For graduate admission, the university may approve a registrar/graduate-office certificate confirming that an entire bachelor/master was taught and assessed in English. Native English speakers are exempt under the general rule. The International Business double degree follows its joint agreement. Undergraduate waivers use separate published criteria; approval should be confirmed.

Question 5

Does English instruction remove Chinese graduation requirements?

Accepted Answer

Some programmes explicitly retain Chinese graduation conditions: AEBS bachelors specify HSK 4; its MIB page and the Software Engineering master page specify HSK 3. The current Curriculum/Instruction page also expects HSK 3 at graduation. Confirm the rules for your exact route, especially a YES or partner award.

Question 6

How do the BBA single and dual awards differ?

Accepted Answer

The single route is four years at ECNU Minhang and awards ECNU’s bachelor degree in Management. The dual route has two years in Shanghai and two in France, with ECNU’s Management bachelor and emlyon’s Global BBA. Ordinary and AI for Business variants appear in the catalogue; specify the intended curriculum when applying.

Question 7

How do the International Business master routes differ?

Accepted Answer

The ordinary single degree is a two-year ECNU Master in International Business. The dual degree has 1.5 years in China and 0.5 years at emlyon in Lyon, France, with an additional MSc in Management. The separate 2027 YES single-degree route uses one ECNU year and one home-country thesis/work year; it does not include an automatic emlyon award.

Question 8

Who can apply for the 2027 YES routes?

Accepted Answer

Applicants must be non-Chinese, under 45, in good health, with a bachelor or above and at least three years of work. They must also fit a published category: division-chief/equivalent government official or above; senior institution/enterprise manager; university/research administrator; or relevant international-organisation employment/internship. Related backgrounds receive priority.

Question 9

What does the YES study and funding model cover?

Accepted Answer

The 2027 call lists Design, International Business(single), and Curriculum/Teaching Methodology. Year 1 is full-time at ECNU; year 2 is home-country thesis work alongside professional work, with a return for defence. Selected recipients receive a tuition waiver and first-year China housing/living/insurance support. CNY 800 application fee and remaining costs need separate planning.

Question 10

When are applications due?

Accepted Answer

The current YES deadline is 1 March 2027, with original qualification documents required before 1 September 2027. The ordinary graduate guide’s 2026 self-funded deadline was 1 June 2026; the next round is unconfirmed. Undergraduate pages give undated June deadlines, with AEBS and the general university page differing; confirm the exact programme/cohort.

Question 11

Is Mathematics Education always a two-year degree?

Accepted Answer

Its nominal Master of Science duration is three years. Students may pursue an optional IBDP Mathematics Teacher Certificate under separate requirements. Those not doing that option may apply for early completion after meeting credits in two years. Neither early graduation nor an IB certificate is automatic.

Question 12

How should I plan housing, daily living and tuition?

Accepted Answer

Book the exact campus residence after the eligibility/payment stage and plan an alternative if rooms are full. Putuo lists a Muslim canteen and Western restaurant at Liwa; dining choices differ by campus. Ask for your cohort’s current tuition and partner-phase costs. Published indicative quotations are separated from a confirmed current invoice.

Question 13

How can Students Traffic support an ECNU application?

Accepted Answer

Students Traffic can compare degree and single/dual/YES routes, check required English/CSCA or work-experience documents, and prepare a realistic campus/phase budget. Admission, scholarship, visa and accommodation decisions follow the relevant official processes. Submit applications through ECNU’s own systems.
