Student living

Campus environment

Accommodation

International accommodation is normally in shared double rooms with a private toilet, air conditioning and water heater; buildings also provide kitchens and activity rooms. Single rooms are generally unavailable. Off-campus renting requires Overseas Education College approval. Published housing pages contain different annual prices, so obtain the current room allocation and fee in writing before budgeting or signing an off-campus lease.

Food & daily living

Dormitory buildings include kitchens, giving students an option to prepare meals as well as use campus catering. Food and everyday spending are separate from tuition and housing. The university’s published living-cost illustrations vary, so plan a personal budget that accounts for dietary needs, cooking supplies and the confirmed accommodation arrangements.

Safety

Applicants must provide a valid non-criminal record and a Foreigner Physical Examination Form; the examination is valid for six months. Medical insurance is a separate degree-student expense. Follow university arrival, accommodation and residence-registration instructions. The Overseas Education College also publishes counselling appointment routes for international students.

Student support

The Overseas Education College provides separate admissions, student-affairs and teaching-affairs support. Its resources include orientation and registration, arrival information, housing guidance, academic systems and psychological counselling. Students Traffic can help compare programme requirements and organise the academic, English-test and application-document checklist.

Frequently asked questions

Is Jiangsu University the same as Jiangsu University of Technology?

No. This profile is Jiangsu University (江苏大学) in Zhenjiang, institution code 4132010299. It is distinct from similarly named universities. The current institution was formed in 2001 through a merger; its educational heritage includes predecessors dating to 1902.

Is Jiangsu University public and recognised?

The 2026 Ministry of Education directory lists Jiangsu University in Zhenjiang under Jiangsu province, with no private-institution designation. Institutional listing does not establish overseas professional registration for a medical, pharmacy or engineering qualification.

Can international students study computing in English?

Computer Science and Technology is listed in English at undergraduate level and offers an English option at master’s level. The master’s catalogue includes intelligent computing, system security, Internet of Things and data-engineering research directions.

Are the English or Chinese master’s courses bilingual?

The catalogue offers the subject in either language, and the programme pages provide separate English-taught and Chinese-taught entry requirements. This profile packages the English selection, while retaining the obligation to learn Chinese for graduation.

What do undergraduate applicants need?

Current guidance requires a high-school diploma or equivalent, programme scores above 70%orB/equivalent, English-test evidence and the relevant CSCA subjects. The normal age range is 18–25; under 18 applicants need a guardian guarantee.

What do master’s applicants need?

Applicants need a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, normally must not exceed age 30, and require the programme’s academic score and English evidence. School academic review and supervisor acceptance are both required to progress.

What is the English-language requirement?

The current central guidance says IELTS above 6.0, TOEFL above 80 orDuolingo above 100. An older Vehicle Engineering page quotes lower scores; use the current central rule and confirm any programme-specific exception with admissions.

Do English-taught students need Chinese?

Yes. Undergraduate programme pages require HSK 4 with at least 180 for graduation and a GPA above 1.80 for the degree, together with curriculum conditions. English-medium master’s graduates must reach at leastLevel 3 of the International Chinese Language Proficiency Standard.

When are the 2027 application deadlines?

The central page closes spring applications on 25 December 2026, with registration 3–5 March 2027. September applications run 1 April–25 June 2027, with registration 6–10 September. A course may offer only autumn intake; check its exact listing.

What is the CSCA deadline?

Current central undergraduate guidance asks for the CSCA transcript no later than 6 January 2027. Because autumn applications open after that date, September applicants should obtain the applicable updated submission deadline rather than assume a different date.

What does tuition include?

The catalogue quotes annual international tuition inCNY. ApplicationCNY 200, registrationCNY 400, insurance, housing and personal expenses are separate. No evaluated scholarship reduction or whole-degree total has been assumed; confirm the 2027 offer’s rate.

Can I rent off campus?

The international housing rules normally require campus accommodation and Overseas Education College approval for off-campus housing. Do not sign an outside rental before approval. Campus rooms are normally shared doubles, with kitchens in the buildings.
