Is the General Medicine programme direct-entry after high school?

Yes. Admission follows completion of secondary education, with no separate bachelor's stage required first.

What qualification is awarded on graduation?

Graduates receive the MUDr degree after passing final state examinations, a Czech medical qualification listed under EU Directive 2005/36/EC Annex V for automatic recognition across the EU/EEA.

What entrance exam does the university require?

A written test covering Biology, Chemistry, and either Physics or Mathematics (the applicant's choice), which can only be taken once per academic year. Sample tests and topic lists are published in advance.

What is the current tuition fee?

EUR 12,500 per year, per the university's official fee-decision document (Appendix No. 10 to the University's Constitution), covering tuition, lectures, clinical practice and exams -- it excludes accommodation, subsistence and textbooks. A non-refundable EUR 80 application fee also applies.

Does the programme require learning Czech?

Coursework and exams are entirely in English, but students complete compulsory Czech-language classes during the first three years to support communication with patients and ward staff.

When does the academic year start and when can I apply?

The academic year starts in September. For the 2026/27 cycle, the application window opened 1 November 2025 and the university's admissions page states it closes 31 July 2026, though entrance-exam sessions are also listed into late August -- confirm the exact current deadline directly with the Faculty.

Is university accommodation available for international students?

Yes -- housing is guaranteed for international students for their entire period of study, across several halls of residence, at rates of roughly EUR 175-215 per month for a single room or EUR 135-165 per month for a twin room.

Do Indian students need NEET to join this programme?

The university's own admissions criteria do not reference NEET. Separately, India's National Medical Commission requires Indian citizens and OCI holders who obtain a primary medical qualification abroad to have qualified NEET-UG, whose result serves as the mandatory Eligibility Certificate.
