Private
University of Europe for Applied Sciences (UE) is a private, state-accredited university formed in 2017 through the merger of two established Berlin- and Iserlohn-based institutions, now part of Global University Systems with roughly 7,800 students from 140+ nationalities. UE's FIBAA-accredited, English-taught MBA family covers a general one-year MBA plus named specialisations in Berlin, Hamburg and Iserlohn.
UE was formed in 2017 through the merger of the Business and Information Technology School (BiTS, Iserlohn) and the Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule (BTK, Berlin), renamed University of Europe for Applied Sciences in October 2020; it has been part of Global University Systems since 2018 (previously owned by Laureate Education) and reports roughly 7,800 students from 140+ nationalities across its German campuses. The six MBA programmes published here span three of UE's four German campuses. Berlin sits at Dessauer Str. 3-5 in Kreuzberg, between Potsdamer Platz and Anhalter Bahnhof, with animation and green-screen studios, a motion lab, TV studio, sound lab, 3D lab and library shared across UE's business and creative faculties. Hamburg's campus, opened in 2014, occupies a historic building on Museumstr. 39 in the multicultural Altona district, a few minutes from Altona station. Iserlohn -- UE's original administrative base, at Reiterweg 26b in the Sauerland region -- has similar studio facilities plus an on-campus gym; international students make up about 13% of the town's population. All three campuses are cited among U-Multirank's top 25 universities worldwide for international orientation.

UE does not operate its own dormitories; its main named accommodation option is a partnership with Edge Student Hub, covering only the Berlin and Iserlohn areas. In Zossen (about 45 minutes from Berlin's Potsdamer Platz), shared rooms start from EUR 599/month, alongside single and shared apartments with communal kitchens and study areas. In Iserlohn, Edge Student Hub sits directly on UE's campus, with shared rooms from EUR 379/month, each fully furnished with an individual desk, kitchenette and ensuite bathroom. No UE-specific dormitory or partner-housing scheme was found for Hamburg; independent market data (Numbeo/WG-Gesucht) puts a one-bedroom apartment in Hamburg at roughly EUR 750-1,000/month, with shared-flat (WG) rooms from around EUR 300/month, while a central Berlin one-bedroom apartment outside the Edge Student Hub partnership runs roughly EUR 1,150-1,230/month.
Daily living support
Berlin has Germany's largest Indian community, so Indian groceries and restaurants are readily available across the city, though no UE-run dining hall or dietary-accommodation programme was found; students self-cater or eat out. Hamburg has a smaller but genuine Indian food scene, concentrated away from the Altona campus core. Iserlohn is more limited: Restaurant Maharaja (Indian cuisine including vegetarian, vegan and halal options, serving the town since 2010) is the established local option, and Dookan offers online Indian grocery delivery to Iserlohn; students there should expect to combine occasional restaurant visits with online grocery delivery rather than a large in-person Indian grocery scene.
Safety and support
Germany is broadly rated as a safe destination for international students, but campus-city risk profiles vary. Hamburg carries a Numbeo crime index of roughly 41 and safety index of roughly 57 (moderate); higher-crime nightlife districts such as St. Pauli and Sternschanze are reported hotspots, both located away from the Altona campus. No UE-specific campus security service, emergency line or safety-orientation programme was found on UE's own Berlin, Hamburg or Iserlohn campus pages; students should confirm current safety provisions and standard personal-safety precautions (for example, around Berlin's busier transit hubs) directly with UE before arrival. UE's Career Development Centre supports MBA students with guidance tied to each specialisation, plus access to UE's own job portal via JobTeaser and recruitment partners Studentpartout and Xcellent-Talents. UE's 'Ersti Week' provides new-student orientation, a Student Success Centre offers academic guidance, and a formal Complaint Process is published for addressing student concerns. UE's own site does not name a dedicated visa-application support service for its German MBA campuses (unlike some peer universities); Indian and other non-EU applicants should plan their own APS-certificate and visa timeline, and UE's student advisors are the stated first point of contact for fee, savings and financing questions across all six MBA routes published here.
