Which MSU routes are covered?

These entries cover regular programmes in the university’s own departments and named centres. They do not establish admission to affiliated or constituent colleges, distance learning, online programmes or research degrees.

Where are the programmes taught?

The main campus is at Abishekapatti in Tirunelveli. BSc programmes use the City Complex in Shanthi Nagar. Environmental programmes are at Alwarkurichi, marine programmes at Rajakkamangalam, and selected postgraduate degrees at the Nagercoil extension centre. Use the location attached to the exact offering.

How do five-year integrated degrees work?

The school-entry integrated routes combine undergraduate and postgraduate stages. A student can exit with the corresponding undergraduate degree after three years by passing the required courses and notifying the department at the start of semester six.

Is integrated library study school-entry?

No. The two-year Integrated M.Lib.I.Sc. requires a prior degree. It is separate from the five-year integrated programmes entered after Higher Secondary education.

What language is used?

The university common regulations specify English except for programme-specific language exceptions. The named MA Tamil regulations specify Tamil instruction and examination. Confirm current delivery arrangements for the chosen department and campus before applying.

How are undergraduate applicants selected?

The regular BSc and five-year integrated routes use counselling and a merit list based on Higher Secondary Part III marks. Exact qualifying subjects and minimum marks differ by programme.

How are postgraduate applicants selected?

The general postgraduate prospectus uses qualifying undergraduate marks and a university entrance examination with 50:50 weightage. Follow the degree-specific assessment and counselling notice, including the separate library programme instructions.

Do the fees cover all study costs?

Published tuition is separate from compulsory programme charges, admission payments, campus logistics and daily living. Five-year integrated programmes have a first-three-years schedule and a different postgraduate-stage schedule, so obtain the complete budget for each stage.

Are international students eligible?

These entries establish the regular domestic route. Programme-specific foreign, NRI or OCI availability, qualification equivalence, permissions and overseas fees require confirmation from the university before an overseas application.

When is the next intake?

Use the university’s newly notified application and counselling schedule. A next first-entry month is not independently established here, and these entries do not promise an open application window.

Is accommodation guaranteed?

No accommodation allocation is promised. The prospectus identifies main-campus men’s and women’s campus logistics and women’s facilities at the environmental and marine centres; check availability, eligibility and charges for the actual teaching campus.

What records should I prepare?

Prepare the academic mark statements and qualifying certificates for the exact degree level, transfer and conduct certificates, and originals for verification. Category or quota certificates and entrance records apply only when relevant to the route.
