University overview

NUAA is a public university in Nanjing, founded in 1952, with an academic focus on aerospace and engineering. Its verified 2026 English international portfolio includes six undergraduate routes and 35 school-specific master’s entries. Compare the advertised major with its source degree title, and confirm the admitted campus, later-intake fees and any conflicting language-test requirement before applying.

NUAA’s international catalogue spans aerospace, automation, electronic information, materials, civil aviation, computing and management schools. The same master subject can appear in several colleges, so the school and intended supervisor matter when comparing routes. The international college’s published admissions address is Jiangjun Road 29 in Nanjing; that address does not establish the teaching location for every cohort. Confirm the campus and any planned moves in the admission notice before arranging a room or commute.

Why students choose it

Six current international undergraduate routes with published core-course and source-degree information.
A broad English master portfolio with exact college entries and required supervisor involvement.
Published tuition categories and room options provide an initial budget, subject to intake and offer confirmation.

Things to consider

Verified guides are for 2026; 2027 degree dates and personal fee quotations are not confirmed.
The UG TOEFL threshold and PG historical deadline conflict across official material.
School and supervisor choices matter; the central college address is not a programme-wide teaching-campus assignment.

Best fit for

Applicants with a clear aerospace, engineering or computing study interest.
Undergraduates prepared for the exact English CSCA subjects and academic documents.
Master applicants able to obtain supervisor acceptance and prepare a signed research plan.

Student living

Campus environment

Accommodation

The 2026 guides list annual room charges by size and occupancy: small and large single rooms at CNY 8,000 and CNY 14,000, and small and large double rooms at CNY 4,000 and CNY 7,000. These are published averages subject to change, separate from tuition and the CNY 400 yearly residence-permit figure. The price list does not guarantee a particular room, campus or allocation. Confirm availability, payment timing, contract length and any utility charges for the actual offer. Scholarship coverage also varies; a tuition-only award should not be treated as funding for housing or daily living.

Food & daily living

The verified admission guides and tariff table do not establish halal certification, a vegetarian meal plan or allergen controls for the admitted campus. Tell the international office about exact dietary requirements and ask about current dining and permitted self-catering before accepting housing. Confirm kitchen and appliance rules in the allocated residence. Meals are separate from the quoted tuition and accommodation, so keep a personal food budget.

Safety

The guides require physical-examination and non-criminal-record documents; the master guide specifies examination and criminal-record documents issued within six months, including the blood-test report. Under-18 UG applicants need a guardian with Nanjing residency. These are admission checks, not a campus safety rating. Follow the current offer and university arrival instructions for insurance and registration.

Student support

The College of International Education manages the published international application route. Submit clear scans through the application portal and bring originals for verification. Student organisations operate under college guidance and registration rules. Ask the office to resolve source conflicts before paying.

Frequently asked questions

Which university is NUAA?

NUAA is Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, 南京航空航天大学, in Jiangsu. It is distinct from Nanjing University, Nanjing University of Science and Technology and Beihang University.

Which English degrees are listed?

The current 2026 international catalogue lists six undergraduate routes and 35 school-specific master entries. Repeated subjects in different colleges remain separate choices. This profile does not extend a doctoral listing into another master programme.

Does the major name equal the degree title?

Not always. The UG table advertises Artificial Intelligence but names Computer Science and Technology as its degree title. Aeronautical Engineering names Aircraft Design and Engineering; Electrical & Electronic Engineering names Electrical Engineering and Automation. No additional BEng or BSc abbreviation is inferred.

How long are the programmes?

The current international tuition table specifies four years for undergraduate routes and 2.5 years for master study. The wider 2.5–4-year postgraduate range includes doctoral study, not a four-year master requirement.

Do English UG applicants need CSCA?

Yes. The 2026 guide requires Mathematics and Physics in English for engineering and Mathematics in English for International Business. The historical score deadline was 30 May 2026. A later intake needs its own verified instructions.

What English score is required?

IELTS 6.0 is consistent across current UG and PG guides, with an equivalent English proficiency letter also listed. The UG HTML says TOEFL 80 while the newer official PDF says 70; confirm the applicable TOEFL threshold. The PG guide lists TOEFL 70.

Who can apply?

The UG guide specifies non-Chinese senior-high graduates or above aged 17–25. The master guide requires a bachelor’s degree, age under 35, strong academic preparation, good physical and mental health and no criminal record. Meeting the minimum does not guarantee an offer.

Are there requirements for applicants under 18?

Yes. The undergraduate guide requires a guardian certificate for under-18 applicants and says the guardian must have Nanjing residency. Confirm the current intake’s accepted guardian documentation before submission.

Is a master supervisor letter optional?

No. The current international PG document list includes a NUAA supervisor acceptance letter and a study plan signed by NUAA supervisors or professors. It also requires recommendation from professors or associate professors, without specifying a quantity in that guide.

What is the tuition?

The 2026 guide lists annual engineering UG tuition of CNY 23,900 and International Business of CNY 22,900. Master categories are CNY 30,000 for business/management and CNY 33,600 for engineering, described as averages subject to change. Ask for programme-specific quotations where the category is not explicit, including natural-science entries.

How much are housing and the application charge?

The application fee is CNY 400 and non-refundable. Published yearly rooms range from CNY 4,000 for a small double to CNY 14,000 for a large single; these are not guaranteed allocations. The guides list residence permits separately at CNY 400/year.

Are applications open for 2027?

No 2027 degree timetable has been verified. The 2026 guides describe past dates. The PG page itself conflicts between 30 May and 15 June, so do not treat either as a later-intake deadline. Confirm the applicable programme and funding-route calendar in the portal.

Are scholarships guaranteed and where do I apply?

No. Scholarships depend on the scheme and academic review; some 2026 awards cover only the first year. The PG summary table has conflicting Type A/B channel labels, so use the exact CSC route notice and admissions confirmation. Apply through the official NUAA system and provide original documents at registration.
